Arrive Ayers Rock 

Welcome to the heart of the Aussie Outback – to Ayers Rock. On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport you will be transferred to your hotel by the coach. This afternoon travel around the base of Uluru in comfort as your Driver Guide provides informative commentary about the numerous sacred sites and geographical features to be found at Uluru. Continue by coach to the Kuniya Walk where your Driver Guide will escort you to the beautiful Mutitjulu Waterhole. View Aboriginal rock paintings and learn about the area as your Driver Guide points out native flora and explains the Aboriginal and European history of Uluru. Later visit the Uluru - Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, where you can learn about Aboriginal culture and purchase Aboriginal arts and crafts. In the late afternoon we travel to the Uluru sunset viewing area. Witness the striking colour changes of Uluru at sunset while enjoying canapes and a complimentary glass of wine. Please ensure you have a minimum of 1 litre of water with you for your walk. Overnight at Hotel

Ayers Rock – Kings Canyon – Ayers Rock

Travel from Ayers Rock Resort to Kings Canyon, stopping for breakfast at Kings Creek Station along the way. Make the rocky climb to the rim of the canyon for marvellous views of Watarrka National Park. Follow the rim of the canyon stopping to look down into the canyon gorge at look-out points. Time permitting, you may choose to descend into the

green oasis of the 'Garden of Eden'. The rim walk takes approximately 3 hours to complete and is rocky and steep in parts. It is recommended for those with a good level of fitness. Alternatively, you may wish to take an easier, shorter walk to explore the boulder strewn canyon floor. After lunch (own expense), return to Ayers Rock Resort.

Recommendations: Day Tandem Skydive 10,000ft or 12000 ft or a Sunrise Tandem Parachute Ride 10,000ft or 30 Minute Uluru/Kata Tjuta Heli Flight or Uluru Sunrise Tour  and the rest of the day is for you to soak in the nature.

Ayers Rock & Kata Tjuta (Olgas) – Alice Springs

Rise early this morning to travel to the Uluru sunrise viewing area. Watch the first rays of the sun set the Red Centre alight while enjoying a warming cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Then travel to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta. On the way enjoy panoramic views of the southern side of Kata Tjuta before arriving at the base of Walpa Gorge. Spend some time exploring the gorge and the unusual conglomerate rock formations. The walking trail through Walpa Gorge follows the natural creek between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta. This afternoon you will be transferred from your hotel to Ayers Rock Airport for your onward flight and move to a remote town in Australia’s Northern Territory. A flight trip on Virgin Australia or travel from Ayers Rock through desert scenery to Alice Springs is what you can choose from (not included in package). Arrive Alice Springs and make your way to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Alice Springs

Alice Springs - a popular gateway for exploring the Red Centre, the country's interior desert region. Its 1872 origin as part of the Overland Telegraph Line (linking Darwin and Adelaide) is preserved in the vintage buildings and equipment at the Alice Springs Telegraph Station Historical Reserve. A half day tour in store for you as you tour the sights of 'The Alice' including The School of the Air. Stop at the historic Telegraph Station, which marks the original site of the first European settlement in Alice Springs. Visit the Royal Flying Doctors Service, where you will see how medical aid reaches those who live in the remote 'outback'. We also make a stop at the Alice Springs Reptile Centre, where you can see up close and maybe touch some of the lizards and snakes that frequent Central Australia's semi-arid desert, such as the Perentie Lizard and the Thorny Devil. The tour concludes with a panoramic view of the township of Alice Springs and the MacDonnell Ranges from the top of Anzac Hill. Overnight at hotel.

Alice Springs – Adelaide 

Early morning we recommend you to experience the breath-taking feeling of floating silently above the Outback as the sun slowly rises over the desert on this awe-inspiring ballooning adventure. Time to say goodbye to Alice Springs and take the flight to Adelaide. Adelaide is a sophisticated city that has preserved its heritage and links with the past. It’s an elegant, clean and gracious city close to some of the best metropolitan coastal beaches in Australia. There are close to 50 attractions in this city of which entry to more than half of them are FREE! A must do is the Adelaide Oval which has hosted both cricket and football at the highest level since Colonial times and its iconic, historic and cultural presence remains today. Overnight at hotel.

Adelaide 

Following breakfast this morning you are taken on a panoramic city tour. Visit the Gouger St Restaurant precinct and Adelaide Markets, Victoria Square and the King William St Boulevard, the North Terrace historical and Arts precinct, River Torrens with its delightful garden banks, the glorious Plane Tree Drive passing the Botanic Gardens and Adelaide Zoo, stop at St Peters Cathedral and a look at the Adelaide Oval, North Adelaide's grand and stately homes, Trinity Church, a visit to Haigh's Chocolate Factory (not on Sundays), The National Wine Centre (visit on Sundays only), Colonel Light's Lookout on Montefiore Hill affording spectacular views over Adelaide. Our tour ends in the afternoon at the Adelaide Central Bus Station. Make your way to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and soak in the ambience the city has to offer. Overnight at hotel.

Adelaide – Kangaroo Island – Adelaide 

A day to explore a Treasure Island of a renowned natural beauty called Kangaroo Island. After your sea voyage across the Backstairs Passage from spectacular Cape Jervis to Kangaroo Island you’ll discover its awesome beauty, rugged unspoilt wilderness. Enjoy an Aussie country style lunch in a rural setting before admiring the stunning landscape of the Flinders Chase National Park, home to the Wallaby, Kangaroo, Goanna, Echidna and a large variety of Seabirds. Next travel to 'Remarkable Rocks' a group of granite rocks worn by natural forces over thousands of years to form astounding and unusual shapes. We then move onto Admirals Arch where you can view New Zealand Fur Seals in their natural ocean environment before re-boarding the ferry and beginning the trip back to Adelaide. A trip you will remember for a lifetime. Overnight at hotel.

Adelaide – Melbourne

Following breakfast this morning its time to be escorted to the airport for your flight to Melbourne. Upon arrival you are met and are transferred to your hotel. Check in and relax. Later in the evening please make your own way to the departure point at Tramstop number 125, Normanby Road, near the corner of Clarendon Street, South Melbourne. You must arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. The Tram departs early evening. The Colonial Tramcar Restaurant cruises the scenic streets of Melbourne while you can enjoy the fine cuisine and drink the very best of Australian wines, or make a selection from the fully stocked bar at a fully inclusive price. Enjoy a three course meal, all beverages from a bar service including tea, coffee and liqueurs in your 1.5 hours tram ride. Make your way back to the hotel on your own. Overnight at hotel.

Melbourne – Phillip Island - Melbourne

A great city and has loads to do. Following breakfast this morning enjoy a full day trip out into Phillip Island, the home of the Fairy Penguins. Depart the city and travel around Westernport Bay en route to Maru Koala and Animal Park. Pat a koala, feed kangaroos and even meet a gold possum. See the Nobbies rock formations overlooking one of the most treacherous expanses of water in the world, Bass Strait. Arrive at the world famous Penguin Parade and watch the nightly ritual of penguins marching up the sand to their nesting places. The Penguin Parade Viewing Platform is located in a 'high penguin traffic area' and will place you in the best position to see the little penguins as they emerge from the ocean on their journey home. With a local ranger on hand providing informative commentary, you won't miss a moment of the wonderful spectacle. You will also have time to look around the educational centre and displays. Stop in Cowes for dinner (own expense) before heading back to Melbourne. Upon returning back to the city, relax at the hotel. Should time permit we recommend you taking a water taxi to the fabulous Al Fresco waterfront city and indulge at some of the best restaurants there. Overnight at hotel.

Melbourne 

Wake up to breakfast this morning following which you have time to explore the city using the Inner circle tram that is free for all. Enjoy a one hour tour of the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground). The MCG has been the scene of many great sporting events. An MCG Tour invites you to relive more than 150 years of sporting excellence on the grand stage of this magnificent stadium. You will visit the famous Long Room, MCG Library, CV Bill Lawry Indoor Cricket Centre. Later in the afternoon you can opt to visit the various shopping areas the city offers and is so famous for, the Grand Prix Circuit ground, the Eureka Sky deck, visit the Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium or just spend time walking around and sponging in the various facets of this vibrant and arty city. Overnight at hotel.

 

Depart Melbourne 

Your tryst Down Under comes to an end today as you are escorted to the airport to board your flight back home.
